China’s steel exports and imports declined again in June

According to the data compiled by China's customs, In June China's steel product exports totaled 4.29 million t, decreasing by 0.47 million t month over month and by 24% year over year. While China's overall steel product exports came to 24.33 million t in Jan-Jun of this year, up 3.2% year on year.

On the other hand, China also imported 1.20 million t of the steel products in June, dropping by 80 thousand t month over month and by 18.4% year over year. While in January-June of this year, China's overall steel product imports amounted to 8.03 million t, down 4.8% year over year.

Besides China also imported 30 thousand t of the billet in June and the overall billet imports amounted to 0.28 million t in the H1 of this year, up 6.8% compared to the same period of last year and there were still no billet exports in June.

While China's coke exports came to 0.32 million t in June, decreasing by 0.13 million t month over month and the year-to-date coke exports stood at 2.45 million t, raising by 75.2% year over year.

In addition China also imported 51.09 million t of the iron ore in June, dropping by 2.21 million t month over month while still up 8.3% year over year, meanwhile from January to June this year, China's overall iron ore imports totaled 334.25 million t, up 8.1% year over year.
